I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and
I adhere to the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions which was updated by the BACP
in July 2016. This includes holding full professional indemnity insurance and a current Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Certificate.
I provide a confidential service and will not discuss anything arising from counselling sessions
with other with the exception of my Supervisor.
As part of the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions I am required to discuss my
counselling work (without identifying individual clients) with my supervisor, to ensure that
I am providing the best ethical service. Also I am required to break confidentiality, should
I have serious concerns about client safety or the client expresses intention to harm
another person. I would make every attempt to speak to the client prior to taking this action.
